Travis Kalanick, co-founder of Uber sent a casual tweet in 2010, to recruit his team “Looking 4 entrepreneurial product mgr/biz-dev killer 4 a location-based service pre-launch, BIG equity, big peeps involved–ANY TIPS??”.
Uber was still being created, and he wanted really good fellows to join him and work with him.
Ryan Graves, who was then working with GE, responded: “here’s a tip. email me 🙂 graves.ryan@gmail.com.”
It seems he was the only person to reply at that time, and he was hired.
The first week of May’2019, when Uber went public with IPO, Ryan Grave, the first employee of Uber, became a billionaire. He is worth $1.5 billion now.
So how do you sum up the entire story?
Magic can only happen when you believe in the story of magic.
